Hey guys i know it will hard to explain but what do you recon is an acceptable amount of blow by on a turbo diesel that has done under 50000k's

Comparing the amount of blow by that comes out the rocker cover (open filler cap) at idle after a run.

If any one is running a oil catch can with a filter on the end of it (not plumbed back), how much if any blow by do you have :?: :?:

Cheers

i have a little bit however my catch can hardly gets full......

Mind you im running 22psi and modded pump that flows alot more fuel.

I think for standard application it should be an issue, however seen lots of 3L with there inter coolers full of oil.

thanks mate.

yeah my catch can has got stuff all in it also, just seems to breathe a bit still though. I am running 20psi and modded pump also. I have only done 2500k's though on a new crate motor. Was going to wait for more k's before more boost but after speaking to many mechanics they said should not make any difference.

is there anyone out there that has serviced or looked down the intake of a 4.2 when reasonably 'new'still. does the intake have a film of oil in it or is it dry?? I am just wondering if they naturally breathe a bit like many diesels do.

Cheers.
