We use riv-nuts in the panels as self tapers can pull out.

Or just go to your local bolt shop, they'll either have them in stock or get them in for you.
You won't need many so cost won't be too much of an issue, just ask for how ever many M6 or M8 or whatever rivnuts for sheetmetal.
Don't worry about the gun just use the bolt trick to do them up, and when you drill your holes for them, if you file or drill the hole just slightly out of round it will stop the nut from spinning when you try and undo it in 5 years time.

Umm... just a suggestion, but what about using a normal hose clamp. If you make two cuts into the gaurd, can you still reach in to screw it up?

Mate... I told you to come and have a look at mine. Not like you have to adapt it to fit a rocky or anything

It's as heavy as rubber truck intake bends and 2 sections of 3" 316 stainless :D

I can rock my whole car without the brackets or the snorkel moving and it has been that way for a couple of years now. ;)

Bunnings... haha.
Was just labeled as a marine, stainless mount/hook or similar, can't remember specifically.

but the style of mount you have shown with basically a large hose clamp, whats the stop it vibrating, moving etc and coming loose or damaging the snorkel etc?
