Anyone know what the Timming set up is for a 3.9efi V8?


Got it all back in and running just need to know what to set the timming at.

6 degs BTDC

discourage inbreeding , ban country music ! Rover didn't make computers as they just couldn't find a way for them to leak oil .

Thanks thats what i thought but it doesnt run right at that. I will have to have another go at it tomorrow.

For Disco motor
2 degrees low comp initial setting. Should run ok at this.
6 degrees on aussie ULP
6 to 10 on lpg

Will supposedly make more torque at 2 after tdc but economy suffers.

Ensure you do a TDC check as many markings are known to be out.
ie No 1 at tdc measured at piston thru plug hole to timing mark tdc.

Airflow may be too lean. Adj with allen key on side for about 2% co.
Out is lean, in (clockwise) is richer.
