Alternator Q's

Post by Zook_Fan »

Hi I read the thread in the bible about the EL Falcon alternator. It was put into a 1.0 litre will this also work in a 1.3? And what sort of Amps do you get out of one of these alternators? Just to check doesnt need compliance plate does it?

Hi.

There is a heap of info in the forum about this. A search for "EF Alternator" or "EL Alternator" should bring up heaps of info...

Most of the EF/EL alternator upgrade info you will find is for a 1.3L.

Here is my install (into a 91WT 1.3L):

Here is B4T's how to:

There is no compliance plate required.

Has anyone got the actual mitsubishi electric part number for the EL Ghia 110A alt? I thought i saw a pic in a thread but do you think i can find it now

found these on ebay

http://search.ebay.com.au/search/search ... category0=

Its about the right vintage to be the same unit, wondering if they would fit. 100 US landed seems an alright price.

I paid $85 from the local wrecker for my 100A EF FALCON one -that included a 3 month warranty. I believe that is the usual going rate.

The 110A EF FAIRMONT GIAH alt is the best one for the job. Only minor modifications to the brackets are required.

The 100A EF FALCON, and 110A EL FALCON alt fits too, but they require a little bit more work to make them fit (the housing has a raised collar around the bearing which makes life a bit harder). All the info is in my thread. http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/phpBB2/ft ... highlight=

Good luck!

Righto,

Managed to convince my self i was after the 110A EL. No wonder i was having probs finding the thread.

Will try and source the EF 110A (found a pic of the part number in your thread Pez)

Edit: Phoned around. Best price in Perth i could find was $85

I may be able to get more than one at a better price than that (mate knows mate knows mate etc. Is any1 interested if it is the right price?

Cheers
