plastic bucket seats
plastic bucket seats
Just looking at getting a set of these plastic bucket seats from the U.S of A. I was wondering if anybody had these or new someone who has them so i can find out if they are comfortable or worth the hassle?
(JEGS pro high back / with cover, US$35ea)

BIG things come in small packages
You'd be surprised how comfy the plastic and aluminium seats can be with the covers on them. I've spent a bit of time in a Kirky aluminium bucket and plastic RCI seats and I found them not much more uncomfortable than my cobra race seats. Although I wouldn't reccomend them for larger folk.

Mate has a late 80's Astra but I think they'd all be pretty good..david123 wrote:Excellent news, been searching for ages for seats, finally found out, sweeet news.want33s wrote:Go to the wreckers and get a pair of seats out of a Nissan Pulsar/Holden Astra.
They fit well and are very supportive and comfortable...... and cheap.
Jas.
Is it a year, or any.
Do the ass test at the wreckers and see what you think.
Not sure about later models but this one and the one before are quite comfy.

Generally, very soft seats aren't actually more comfortable. I drive a minimum of 3 hours a day in my STi, on 19mm on foam - Recaro SP-G race seat. It's easily the most comfortable seat I've ever owned,
However, those plastic RCI seats are evil. I can't see why the Kirkey's wouldn't be comfy though - they have pretty good padding though the base.

They're an alumninium drag race/sprint car seat.
Illegal, hard to mount, subject to fatigue etcetcetc... but cool....
they also do a road race seat that's nice, but pretty bulky.
