Interesting to note that ARB have added 'under development' for the lockers for the larger diffs

ARGH!

Its not very often you open a thread hoping to spend another $1500!!

But no. Here is part of an email I got 6 months ago
Please find below an inquiry from a gentleman in Invercargill for you to follow up with. Can you please pass on the message on behalf of Daniel Bongard (head Air Locker engineer here at ARB) that Frank’s Mitsubishi diff is still very much a reality – it has just been slowed up a little due to various issues here. A model number has not been allocated yet but as soon as it is you guys will know and can then pass the details onto Glen. Thanks and good luck.
I should ad, that at least it is now under development!

C'mon mate you know you need it.

Didnt you have the factory locker?? didnt you trash it.

I wonder if you'll be able to retro the ARB one into the factory locker.??

Maybe you will have to get it fitted to your origianl non locked diff?? if you still have it.
My factory locker still works OK, but I know that the locking mech is missing 3 teeth.

Hi Ian, yes I still have the original non locked diff. Just will need to swap my 4.9 crown wheel and pinion over from the factory locker with no teeth.....

And yes I know I want it and reckon I'll be just about the 1st to get one when it comes available!

Cheers

HI Frank - are you still in touch with any of these guys?

And was their any update on the low gears for the 5 speed 3.5's - there was talk about doing some other than the 3.15 that would be easier to fit.

Cheers

Yes I am, the last I heard was around October this year.
There were some hold ups with the castings.
There are 3.15 5sp gears for sale (direct from Mark) but we are only inclined to sell them to people who can do the necesary mods to fit them.
I think Carl over there has done two of them now and he said it was pretty straightfoward.
I can tell you they are awesome have a set in my NJ 3.5 DOHC 5sp and with 33"s and 4.63 diffs she crawls along nice and slow.

Frank did you fit them yourself, or who did you get to do it?

I fitted them myself - the gear fitment is the easy part only a little grinding of the housing (same for the auto t/case).
The tricky part is modding the 5sp selector rail and gear lever boss (that attaches to the selector rail) so it clears the larger low range gear - Mark did this mod for me.
