1l or 1.3 for engine conversion?

Post by suzukigav »

Hey i am in the process of buying a new sierra, After getting it i am going to do a vitara1.6 or corolla1.6 converson to it. I was wondering if there is any difference in difficulty or addaption that should be conscidered before making the choice between 1l or 1.3l conscidering the conversion that is going to take place.

Start with a 1.3l things like the adaptor kit for the 1.6 are readily available and most people here can help you with the tech side of things

It depends very much on which conversion you want to do - they are very different.

IMHO if you're going to go the the corolla 1.6 it doesn't matter as much which one you go for - either way the engine mounts etc are going to have to be moved so the advantages of the 1.3 are much less pronounced.

If you want a Vitara 1.6, then definitely get a 1.3. It's a very easy conversion.

Bear in mind if you want to stay with suzuki diffs you'll end up on WT diffs eventually anyway, so the easy way to end up with an easy build is with a WT sierra as a starting point and a 1.6 vitara motor.

Does the corolla eg 4age go that much harder than a vit efi 1.6?

Is it worth the extra effort to do the corolla conversion?
