who has a 1.6 single point injected Vit?
hey all, im trying to track down a single point vit MAP sensor, but the spare parts place wants a VIN.
now the trouble is, i dont have the car, only the EFI system, so if anyone can help me out with a VIN number from their car, that would be freaking awsome.
please let me know
Thanks in advance

You do know these weren't sold in Aus don't you?
Best bet might be a trip to a pull it yourself type wrecker and grab a handful of nippondenso MAP's - they're generally all pretty similar.
The local Pick-a-part to my work often has TBI swifts in it, my guess is it will be the same MAP as the TBI vitara, (and probably the same MAP used in hundreds of other japanese cars.

The swifts should be the same. What places wanted a VIN? If its Kloster parts dont worry, even with a VIN they are useless unless you want a Falcon oil filter. I dunno whats going on with your work email Greg, i will call you later.

Not quite sure if it's the right one or not.

NO worries - AFM = air flow meter, up near the air filter. uses the velocity of the incoming air to work out the amount of fuel the car needs.
MAP= manifold absolute pressure (sensor) uses the pressure (typically vacuum in a NA car) in the manifold to work out how much fuel the car needs.

Thanking you Steve,
so from reading the above info, a 1.6 Swift MAP should do the trick?

ACDELCO Part # 2134431
I have contacts with AC Delco (used to work for Holden) so i will see if this number comes good and what the $$$ is (this is the MAP sensor off a O/S 1.3L suzuki TBI, it looks to be the same as used in most of the zook TBI setups on the G series motors.

while your talking maps and afms, (slight hijack) does anyone know if the values are the same. eg. can you fit a afm to a system that should have a map. i'll need to know this when i go to force feed a jimny top end. sorry for the hijack pyro but if they can be swapped over i will post my map sensor to you if you want it.

No, there will be a very different range of values and response between the two.
There have been some interceptor boxes sold in Japan that remove the stock AFM on nissan RB/SR engines and use a MAP and some electronics to fool the nissan ECU into thinking it still has a AFM attached. It's a very japanese solution to percieved restriction in stock RB AFMs.
Apparently the converters have pretty coarse resolution though so they don't lead to the nicest tune.

In short if it has a different range you'll end up with a car that runs rich or lean (but not in neccessarily in a good way) but having said that there's a lot of similarity between lots of japanese cars at that sort of level.
99% sure you'll be fine if you find one off a TBI swift.
