Aftermarket CV boots for early model cruisers????

Post by flyology »

Before I put my swivel hubs back together, does anyone know if an aftermarket CV boot similar to the 105 series boot is available for early model cruisers? I looked at modifying the 105 boots but they are too big and crush up too much........

Hello Joel

I am truly apologetic about the delay in getting back to you on this information, but as they say in the classics, it’s always better late than never?

Unfortunately, the Split Cv Boot will not fit the 60 series Landcruiser, simply because the design was created at the end of the production of Leaf Spring Suspensions for Toyotas in general, and not only was the 60 series eliminated from the opportunity of using the Split Cv Boot, but also the same fate beset the 75 series.

In simple term’s, the Split Cv Boot will only fit the Coil Sprung front suspensions, namely the 78/79/70 and 100 series Toyota Landcruiser.

The cost of the Split Cv Boot kit is $125 and freight anywhere in Australia using Australia Post Express bag would cost you Around $15-$20 delivered to your door.

I am sorry that were unable to help you at this time.

Kind Regards

Thanks Joel, I cant understand why they wouldn't modify the split CV boot to fit the 40-45-47-60-61-62-75 series cruisers, as there are plenty of owners of these vehicles out there that would part with dollars to get some.....

I'd imagine most of their customers would be fleet owners - mines etc. Comparatively little money to be made by offering these boots to the 'enthusiast' market; not worth tooling costs etc.
