You know how when you accidentally leave the lights on and most modern cars have a beeper to let you know???
How would i got about setting something like that up on my suzuki? are there even parts for that sort of thing available?
I think it'd be a handy thing to have, as i quite often drive with my lights on, get out walk 5 steps before wondering "did i turn the lights off?" hehe

Find your headlight relay (if you don't have one, upgrade ) and identify the coil circuit. Insert a second relay in this circuit, which comes on when accessories/ignition are on. That way, if your keys are in your pocket, you know your headlights are off.
Dash lights could be another issue - depends on how your car is wired, and where you insert your second relay.

you could set something simple up with a two small headlight relays,
youd need a wire to the interior light (door switch), one from the ignition, and one from the headlights.
Set it up so that the power flows from the headlights +ve (take power from the steering column loom park light wire) through the first relay - normally open, have it controlled by the interior light so when the int light comes on (door open) the relay closes allowing the headlight power to flow to the next relay wired normally closed (you can get relays that can be wired n/c or n/o) with power from the ignition holding it closed, the headlight power would then come out of that and head through a buzzer (dick smith sell them) to ground.
Therefore if the head lights are on you have power, door open and ignition off, the power makes it to the buzzer and bzzzzzzzzz, there you go.
Probably plenty of fancier ways to do it but they'll all need the same basic inputs and this is something i can make with parts i have on hand now.

Jaycar kits are simple and easy to fit too but will need a relay wired ass about to work on a Zook.

Better idea, IMO, and less annoying, and possibly easier, would be to wire them to you accessories circuit.
Keys come out, lights go off.
This is one of the best things about driving a Subaru, they are wired from the factory like that.
My Zook will be getting wired this way too as I am retarded and would leave my lights on all the time.

I have always had these on my vehicles. I use a Tandy 'Headlight Alert'. Only a two wire connection and if the healights are on with the ignition off it beeps and a red LED flashes. Can't seem to find them on the Tandy website though.
