Does anyone know who can respray my GQ shorty in the Brissy area, I am just after a straight white coat as the ol girl is starting to look a touch shabby. I am not after a sho finish , just a oce over to neaten her up

It may be cheaper to buy a gun and do it yourself. If you are not worried about getting a show finish, then you also get the satisfaction of saying that you did it.

White is probably the easiest and most forgiving colors to paint. grab a piece of tin or scrap metal or something to practice on and give it a go. it's not rocket science. And the more you do the better you get.

set your compressor at 60-65 psi, Hold the gun about 20-30cm away from the vehicle, and spray even coats. not too fast so it is thin and sandy, but not too slow, otherwise it will run.

You are probably looking about 200-300 all up for materials, and a day to do it.

anybody have a rough cost to do a basic respray? im in the same position as GQboy, the lux could do with a tidy up. im not really in the position with time, equip etc to do it myself.

half decent paint and supplies $300 or there abouts

cheap gun and compressor $200

Lots of time in the prep and you will get a good finish.......

Ive done a small amount of painting on my cruiser before and it was quite easy but I had issues with the hardening of it. When I bolted it all together it broke the paint layer or it scratched easily... anyone got any advice on how to achieve this? Is there a hardener compound that needs to be added to the paint or just a longer curing process?

Not sure about hardner for acrylic, but yes there is a hardner that must be added when spraying 2 pack to allow for the curing.

Hey mate i just did a bit of touching up on my patrol just with one of those spray cans from autobarn, paint matched up really well! Did some big flaking areas too.. paint, wax and grease remover, etching primer and some wet and dry sandpaper only set me back $50!

1 can of paint would prob almost cover a bonnet.
