Post by SWBMQCraig »

Hey guys im looking for a hand winch as a bit of backup for my Mq patrol just in case it gets stuck! prob looking at about the $300 to $400 mark.. anyone got any experience with any good/bad?

Here's a couple if found so far

My tirfor is at least 15 years old now .. it has not be seriously abused but it has had a hard life and when used has been pushed to the limits (busted the shear pins a few times) .. work out a way to reduce the load .. replace the shear pin and away you go again ...

I would say a second hand Tirfor would be a better buy. I have had one but sold it when i got a electric winch. The thing is most hand winches would not have been used very often as they are f&*king hard work.
