Changing rego interstate

Post by Stu_B »

Hoping someone out there will have done this before, moving to QLD from Vic and need to know what will be needed to change the rego over on a modified 93 Hilux with V8, body lift, 33" tyres. It is engineered in Vic, but not to sure if it needs to be redone in QLD.

You will need to have it re inspected in QLD and from the sound of it there's not much chance it will get reg. (or engineer approval) QLD is very restricted.

I think I'd approach a QLD engineer now and see if they'll cert it. If there's no chance, sell it in Vic.

In that thread someone stated that if you owned & operated the vehicle in VIC then QLD will honor the original enigneering work.

Check with QLD transport, DONT JUST GET THEIR WORD FOR IT get the rules in writing then you will know where you stand. If its knocked back then you will have something to argue with, not just hearsay.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK ;)

Edit: the thread in question was called "V6 Question", I typed this & then just V6 & no posts came up so the search function seems to be broken.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
