Never seen one off road and wouldn't recommend it. Maybe beach driving (with someone to pull you out) and flat dirt tracks would be ok.

I spent half a day driving one around the Sydney caravan camping and 4x4 show test track a couple of years ago and found it would do most things but you had to drive it very differently to a regular 4x4.

Thanks guys, knew id get shutdown :P

Basically looking for one for the wife, but being me would probably want to take it offroad. I wanted a Prado but its too big for her and too much $$ to maintain. Im not looking to rock climb or deep fire trails, maybe the occasional snow trip or stockton beach!

Thanks CV, thats good, but i have never driven offroad before, ive driven plenty of 4wd's but always on road..so its all new to me

Cheers!

Mate runs a the "new sales" in a Toyota yard and reckons to stay clear of them; didn't give me specifics but said they are crap.
Kind Regards,

Why don't you take a look at a suzi vitara or something like that? Tiny bit smaller and a bit soft for my (and prob most of outerlimit's) likings. but it's got low range and will probably do the soft stuff what you're on about. Mate's dad has a Hyundi Terracan't he drove it up to cape york last year. I'ts based on a pajero platform. Get a diesel. Cheap as chips. Do lots more than a Kluger.
