The Factory turbo deisel 100's started in around 2000. They were only offered in IFS. The motor they came with is a 1HD-FTE which is EFI and has a small front mount Intercooler. The 105's (1998-2000) Came with Live front axle and 2 motors to choose from, 4.5L Petrol (1FZ-FE) or the 4.2L NA Deisel (1HZ). Most solid axle turbo deisel 105's are an aftermarket turbo job, there might be the odd one floating around with a 1HD-FT or 1HD-FTE conversion, but expect to pay big $$$ for it.
If chasing a Factory Turbo 80 series you will be looking for one with the 1HD-FT they were available from 1995-1998 and still chasing good $$$$, The 80's that came with the 1HDT went from 1990-1995, still a good motor but you want to know every bit of its history and get a few things checked straight away.

On Biodiesel it would still work out cheaper than the Hilux on PetrodieselShadow wrote:30L/100KmLuxyBoy wrote: http://www.unimog.com.au/index.php?id=257 Man that would be sweet though
