+ clutch and flywheel from 1300
+ engine mounts and brackets from 1300
+ narrow body starter from 1600
+ vss sensor from 1600 dash (except 89 8V TBI - doesn't have one)

As nic said you'll also need and electric fuel pump. Either Vitara internal into a coily tank or external - eg VL commodore etc.
Water pipes and heater hoses etc should all go straight on.

Quick question while this thread is going... Why do people use the sierra gear box instead of just using the vit gearbox and shortening the jack shaft????

VSS is a speed sensor, it is not really needed, I dont run one with my 1.6 16v (I plan to get around to it eventually), If you really wanna bother just search "VSS" theres been a few threads on how to do it.

To do the fuel setup properly either an efi swb vitara fuel tank swap, or use a surge tank and 2 pumps (low pressure lift pump and high pressure vl fuel pump).

AFAIK yes you need to use the 1.3 starter motor

Heres a link to my thread which will have a few usefull pics, I already had the 1.6 carby but apart from starter/engine mounts/ gearbox adapter, the rest of the install will be the same.
