Hey Guys
I'm new to this suzuki thing and i have tryed a search but couldnt find anything....
I have an 05 jimny and have brought an 80mm lift springs etc I now in the search for some shockies. I dont want to go tough dog.... I'm looking at some ranchos or something similar that will be fine with the 80mm... So my question is does anyone know part numbers for ranchos that will suit or any other brand that will suit??

You need to measure the open and closed lengths while suspension is travelled , then go through a list of shock lengths to find the best fit , just google them , measure from the centre of each mount , Cheers Paul.

Rancho's work very well on jimny's just a heads up i'm running the 5 stage 9000 series (which I think is no longer sold) I have a mate with toughdog shocks and the ride is very very firm! handles well but rough roads would require a kidney belt. I've found the ranchos to give a similar ride on the hardest setting (which is never used) comfortable ride. on 3 and below. have been fitted for 150000km's and 7 years changed bushes no probs with shocks
This isn't intended to sound aggressive, but there's no point saying "rancho's work well" unless you specify part numbers.
There's no Rancho made for a Jimny with 80mm of lift, but there are hundreds of Rancho part numbers, often with RADICALLY different valving.
Just because it fits doesn't mean it will be valved properly.
I've seen more than one jimny with massively over length ranchos on it - the shock would bottom easily 2" before the axle toughed the bumpstop, meaning the shocks were at least 3" too long compressed. (or the bumpstops were 3" too short)
99009 are pin top eye bottom and usefully soft, but there are likely to be far too long. (they have about 10.5" of shaft travel)
When it comes to long ranchos, IMHO it pays to look at what's available and valved correctly and then build the mounts to suit, not the other way around.
They are NOT adjustable for any possibility.

just to follow up on steve's post - im running Bluemax shocks in mine - they make a long travel shock valved for the ligth weight of the sierra... theyre firm, but not too firm - and with these fitted i passed the lane change test, so they're spot on for handling on-road, and offroad testing has concluded theyre AWESOME offroad too.
