Hilux diffs under Sierra
Hilux diffs under Sierra
A mate of mine wants to put Hilux diffs under his Sierra but isn't very mechanically minded and I know sweet F A about Zuks so I'mlooking for info on this conversion from anyone whos done it especially on connecting the steering brakes and tailshafts any massive dramas people have had trying to make it all fit.
I've done a search and couldn't find allthe info I wanted thanks in advance and please write in terms a lux driver will understand as previously stated I know nothing bout Zuks

If you're not very mechanically minded I don't recommend this swap.
It involves quite a lot of steering work and structural modifications as you pointed out.
On top of working out the connections, you'll also have to troubleshoot a SPOA conversion at the same time, and deal with rear driveshaft angle.
Most hilux diffed SPOA suzuki's run extended wheelbase to ease driveshaft problems and to make the whole car work at it's new height and tyre size.
Some will say this is just me puchig my anti SPOA/anti hilux diff agenda, but it's not. Getting the diffs under the car is the easy bit. Getting it all hooked up safely is expensive and time consuming.

Bundy rear diffs already have the centre offset to the left so the rear driveshaft angle is happier. Otherwise they're pretty much the same as hilux.
I assume you've used a hilux front diff to SAS your car? - This isn't really that hard as there's not really heaps of differences between a live axle hilux and an IFS hilux (at 2003) stuff like brakes and driveshafts are pretty strightforward.
It's a fair bit more complex for the lux diffs into sierra.

is it engineerable Linc? might want to consult an engineer about the steering especially... mine for example had to be machined from 1 piece of steel and the type of steel was also specified by the engineer (cant just use mild steel). It basically has to exceed original design specs to pass.
