So have you pulled it apart yet to work out what it has done?

I thought it just may be a Harmonic Balancer, the commodore V6s are bad for doing them and you cant realy see anything wrong but the rattle like they have done a big end.

This is usually the bit where I say......ASK MOOSE !!

I work in the Health Industry.....ER.....dealing with the idiots of the world.

I believe the noise was the Oil Pump......it had shattered and probably caused both probs I had the both times I drove it !

The noise was similar to a f@cked lifter or bent rod.....just in one cylinder...not closing properly.

As for the first noise....well that was the bearing....but Moose managed to find another cam shaft and bearing for $80........and it came with the rest of the entire VR engine !!! - :D

Yeah...ouch....the missus now doesn't trust taking it on a drive any further than Melbourne outskirts...she wouldn't let me take it to Adelaide last week.......

Oh well........I guess that's what happens when you take it out twice....break it twice.....then get it fixed and DON'T take it for another run before you have a long drive.

Yeah...it's fixed BUT I haven't played for a couple of weeks....maybe this weekend ??
