Just wondering because I can't tell,
Is there some kind of chart that might say a
75/R16/22 or whatever equals a 15" x 33" x 12.5".
I simply dont understand the metric tyre sizing system.
Cheers

Let's take an example.
265/75/16
265 = width in mm
75 aspect ratio = ( sidewall is 75% of the width)
16 - rim diameter in inches
So 265 divided by 100 times 75 divided by 2= 397.5mm - that's the height of the sidewalls. / 25.4 for inches = 15.64
+ 16" for the rim = 31.64" - about right.
265 is about 10.5" wide.
So a 265 75 16 is about 31.5X10.5.
I have seen some converters ( I think novak conversions in the US had/has one) but I just calculate it out. It's no more work than opening explorer and plugging the numbers in. The numbering convention is always the same -
235 85 16 - 399.5 of sidewall/25.4, + 16" = 31.72
235 is about 9.25"
