i too prefer hitachi over makita.
although ive had some gear replaced and repaired under warranty my gear cops a flogging, the batteries are great and buying in the USA and bringing in can make them quite cheap. thats with any gear though...
dewalt is now owned by black and decker, so theyre reputation from yesteryear is great, but really their new stuff needs to prove itself...
