Coils on the front? is this better

Post by MnG2guys »

I'm eveluating my 4x4 in a few weeks. taking the 4runner out to Cameron Corner to play in the sand and giber. The evaluation is because I'm thinking of upgrading from the 4Runner 22R 4cyl to either a V6 4runner or a Prado 3.0
I noticed the Prado has coils on the front suspension is this a plus? whats the better vehicle for touring the country do you think. Id be looking at an early model Prado due to limited funds.
Thanks for your opinions in advance. "it all helps"

The Prado would be a better tourer and yes the IFS coil set up is better than the IFS tbar set up.

just be aware that the 2000-2002 prado TD's have a timebomb gearbox (so do the same era NA cruisers- 70's and 105) and its a smidge under $2200 to rebuild it
2005 HDJ100 Manual, ARB bar, XD9000 winch, ARB rooftop tent + awning, Drawers, Engel, 2" OME lift, 285/75R16 KM2's, iCom, HID XGT's.
