best gas friendly V8 for GQ
best gas friendly V8 for GQ
good day sirs, looks like the heads gone on the tb42 and not gonna spend any money on this motor, wanna get a real donk.
so looking for a V8 nothing crazy, budget being around the 5000 mark. gonna run it on gas so whats your opinion on the best motor in this price range?????
was looking into the 350, rumour has it 2800 brand new (could be wrong).
will be good to hear some opinions.

Not with the price of gas kits, even with the rebate.
Edit: oops, forgot your truck is already on gas

96 GQ LWB, Rd28T, nothing exciting, but CLEAAAAAN. 2" Kings flexy's, long shocks, custom dump, 3" zorst, fuel screw meddled with.
Gas set ups can be had cheep I scored a gas tank still in date from the
for sale section on this board
And once set up by a gas pro with the rest of the bits
it cost $2200
So with rebate it cost me $200
It was a big block as well but not even in your ball park budget just to buy the engine.
But I will say it goes like shit off a shovel.

will be doin most of it myself besides manifold and engineering cert i would say.
not after high numbers, just something with a bit more torque and bit more noise , and something thats gonna handle gas better than the tb42 as of trouble with the heads.
X2hokey wrote:the 350 is exactly as above but less complicated, cheaper and will make more torque. also if you're running straight gas it will be way simpler
Or a 327 or 400, whatever is available. Then you can stick Chev badges and stickers from asshole to breakfast time like everyone else with a Chev conversion
