Gas Research on GU 4.8
Gas Research on GU 4.8
I have a mate who wants to put gas research on a GU 4.8. He wants to go dual fuel. How does this work with EFI? Do you remove nissan throttle body setup and use the Gas research throttle? Does it need a throttle position sensor?

best idea is to get a Lambda computer to do the injectors cause if you just cut power your going to have an Engine check light on, and that will be anoying
You need something that can trick the ECU to say yes the Injectors are still running, Also the Lambda computer works on the O2 sensor cause with LPG in the system and on gas it will get a different reading causing another warning lamp, that's why EFI on gas is so complicated.

AA's for Quitters
Not so easy I'm afraid, the 4.8 is a type of fly by wire, it has a cable that only partially connects to the throttle as all fast idle and stuff goes through it, there may be a multitude of issues that arise with the stock ecu and fault codes, you could be lucky but I'd expect the worst, throttle control is something the manufacturers take pretty seriously.

It is a relativly straight forward job to put aftermarket EFI on them, then you could put on a Gasresearch Throttle and tune the fuel for maximum performance as well as optimize the timing as most offer duel ignition maps. I have fitted the Haltech E11 very sucessfully, all the ,options of the Motec at 1/2 the cost.
