85 high roof 1.3, 6.5 tc, air lockers,ruf and 34 swampers. yep its an ugly pos.
the springs are great - very flexy, ran almost flat with one leaf removed - not sure how close to jeep length but theyre 120mm longer than a zuk rear. and they can only be run in SPOA cos they are so flat...
Mine's engineered with them too - passed the lane change test etc.

The worst thing about censorship is ███████.
hilux fronts in front and rear with the load leaf removed... so all 4 wheels flex about the same.
Chassis extension is about 120mm. New perches (hilux ones) are welded to the chassis, standard SPOA treatment on the diffs (old perches gone and new ones on top). After that its shock mounts, bump stops, shocks, brake lines, steering arms (and tierod/draglink), modify exhaust to clear springs and tyres on compression, beef up tcase and add tcase gears etc etc...
The lift itself also required the addition of a x-member on the chassis for the rear shocks to mount to, and the chassis extension required a lot of fish plating and bracing, its now the strongest part on my chassis, put it that way =)
If you're thinking of doing it, contact an auto-engineer (im sure your local licensing place has a list of engineers, mine did)... talk to the engineer about whats possible and what he'd like done to make it pass his inspections and be a roadworthy (ie safe) rig...

My brothers ute runs lux fronts in the rear SPUA, almost flat. Flexes real well.

Yeah, they do catch. I am going to re-drill the spring pads to shuffle the axle back another inch when my brother and i get some time. It wont be a big improvement, but every little bit helps. My black WT is SPOA with 40mm longer shackes in the rear. I'm just thinking flex can give way to other problems. In this case it's the rear getting hung up. Hence why I went with 3/4 elliptic in the rear to match my front flex without compensating load carrying ability. My departure angle is better than your brother's already and I have plan to move the axle back 2 inches.lay80n wrote:Yeah, they do catch. I have been looking at ways to make the angle better, it isnt that bad now, the photo actually looks worse than it is. The axle is already back 5 inches front standard due to the lux springs, when it gets moved back a bit more by re-drilling the perches i dont think it will be that bad. I tyink we have Hi-Jacked the thread though

Yes as far as i know using TJ /high lux in a narrow track will be fine. there wont be much difference. Actually now i think about it it may be easier because making the new mounts wont be as hard to make; if your trying to keep your diffs in the same position.
