Are extended spring shackles engineerable in QLD?
Will DoT accept them?

but you should fit some anyway.

*This is speculation only*
If you have a significantly longer than stock spring, it should be possible to engineer an appropriately long shackle for the application.
You'd have to consult an engineer carefully over this.
I'm working on a project with very long rear springs here in Vic and the engineer has given tentative approval for a long enough shackle to make the spring usable. Obviously, that's not a shackle used for lift purposes on an otherwise stock setup though.

Re: Shackles
x2. Just be sensible, no more than 2" longer, and roll them around in some grease and dirt before you fit them so they look like they've been there for 20 od yearsGutless wrote:nope.want33s wrote:Are extended spring shackles engineerable in QLD?

The rules will change when I come to power

60 + Turbo, 33"s
shackles
in the rule book it only says that the use of extended shackles to lift a vechile is not allowed it does not actually say in black and white you cant have them but cops are always right they can give you a fine with no proof so maybe try and con an engineer into approveing them as long as they dont lift the car
