Oh and a few tips if you are coming to XRCC in January.

1. Bring air-o-gaurd and citrinella (sp?) candles and there were a few flies. Nothing exsesive but they did get annoying when you are trying to eat!!!!

2. Bring ya Togs as the swimming hole is unreal, and like i said will be a great place to sit back in the arvo with a coldie or two!!

XRCC Round 1.

Post by XTREME MMM »

Hi, Hope you all had a good Christmas & make sure you have a good & safe New Year.

I would like to thank Adrian for all the good reports on Rover Park, I KNEW YOU WOULD LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At the moment I have one paid up entry for Round 1. So please keep them coming in. I will be away from Sunday the 4 until Sunday night 11th.January. I will then be leaving for Rover Park on Saturday 17th. January to set up for Round 1.

Just jumping ahead alot, at the 2004 Mud Bulls & Music there will be a invitation only "XRCC" event. Entrants will be selected from the 3 Rounds as well as a couple of "Wildcard" entries. This will be limited to 10 vehicles. More on this later.

As for me (XRCC) trying to have an event closer to Sydney, that would be great, but I need a venue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On another side of this comment what has happened to all the event organisers from down South, I have only run 2 Rounds of XRCC. There are a lot more people around other than me, why don`t the people that have made this comment run an event????????????????? down in there home area. As like most they would rather compete (lot easier) & let someone else do all the hard work. It is good to see another Rock Event going to happen in Victoria, Cheezy, if you had anything to do with this, GOOD ON YA!!!!!!!!!

All for now, see you at Round 1 - Rover Park.

Regards MMM

Have to agrea with you on this Dave. There has to be more event orginisers in Aus that are interested in setting this style of comp up. We have 2 seperate Rock Style comps up here in QLD(XRCC/Q-Rock) and there is the comps in Vic Cheezy is setting up. So why cant someone in Sydney do some hard yards and set something up? You allready have the sites to run a comp.

What is the dates for this?

How much does it cost to get into the park?

What is the competition entry fees?

Is there a map how to get there?

Will there be any recreation time for competitors?

I need to get my junk going and get my work time sorted out.

I have found thier website:

www.roverpark.com

It is okay, but needs a map like black duck valley has.
Any help, I have been through the thread and the dates are there and thats it!

How long a distance towing from Brisbane?

What sort of timeframe?

Is the best way to get thier the one Adrian described?

Looking at a map online, it looks like the Mt Lindsey Highway goes straight to Tenterfield?

Oh and guys, remember, Metcalfe, doesn't like to be called Metcalfe, it was Dave!!

(Reading heaps of Metcalfe this and that, and chuckling silently to myself)

Is that not a better option then, than the one Adrian suggested????

It has some weird lines on it?? Steep gradients? Will it be quicker to tow the long way?

no, i would go via cunninghams gap if towing a trailer, the road through canungra then woodenbong is a narrow, twisty un maintained road on the qld side, and is a twisty wide unmainted road on the nsw side - this was 8 months ago the last time i went that way

BJ read the friggin POST!!!

I have already covered nearly all your questions!!

I also said that the BEST way to go is Down the Cunningham Hwy to tenterfield, the way threw Woddenbong is a freaken nightmare!!!!!!!!!

And don't say that you did't know about it, Sam has been saying for ages that he wants to get the Buggy finished by XRCC!!!!!! Considering that its not far from been finished!!! :?

You now have one of the most capable rigs in Australia and you want to go shark fishing! Doesn't make sense????

If you want a spotter i would be more than happy to do it if thats a major concern!!!!

$165.00 pays for the park fees and Entry to the comp!
$100.00 Trailer hire!
$100.00 Fuel!

Unless you own your own boat i don't see how Shark fishing could be cheaper!!!!!

Steady on champ. Asking work for the time off today. I wouldn't even factor in the top ten in terms of vehicle capability, especially without a gearbox that selects reverse. but MEH!!

I read the map close and that highway which goes stright through is a dirt road, where did you mention that? so are we best using the coast road? the bruxner goes all the way out to ballina

go down mt lindesay out past jimboomba, then go straight south at like woodenbong to the bruxner and throw a right and cruise to tenterfield?

i might just follow someone else, i can see me getting lost here!!

Ruff: "hello?"
Bj: "dude its me, i, i'm lost"
ruff: "ROFL, where?"
bj: "dunno, there is a road, a hill, a cow, there's like no other cars...."
ruff: "i mean a place"
bj: "hang on a sign is coming up, camoowheal 8km"
ruff: "WTF?"
bj: "I'm close aren't I!"
ruff: "NO!"
bj: "d'oh...... again"

You are forgetting: repair or replace gearbox = $500
fuel = could care less i use it anyways.
additional beers for sam = heaps!!!
trailer = $150 (poofs!!! someone sell me one with brakes for cheap)
Entry = $165

But i could win a trophy

I got invited shark fishing, not even my boat, i just gotta bring beers, and me rod!! but ill go later in the year, im gunna bail, so i gotta pull the gearbox this weekend. and get it to a auto specialist.

I was sorta half joking about missing it. I would like Sam to spot for me, then I could have a chance at winning, but at the moment the lineup is:
Smithy the gaybo
83lux, the padder
boatlux who should be competing?

ahhh cunningham hwy, thats the inland one, okay, that sounds good!! i reckon jimboomba/cedar grove boys are halfway there looking at the map.....

should be a good event.
saturday remove gearbox!!!!!!!!

hope matt and mick are there, nev says he misses you boys and will be there with bells on. I said to bring a shirt and stuff aswell, but yeah... we dunno   :finger:

but yeah, i reckon it should go pretty hard this first round. and i was joking about not gunna be there, ill be warming the rockrail up, get the avgas flowing.

some interesting facts about tenterfield:
tenterfield terrier
tenterfield saddler
tenterfield this and that. heaps touristy stuff
