mtz's on a gq lwb

Post by viperguy »

what does everybody think of the mickey thompson mtz's on a gq patrol lwb? after some real world feedback. how long do they last how do they drive noise levels etc. found a place selling at a good price so wondering if they are as good as they say they are.

also as i only got 2 lift in the (new) longy i was originally guna just get 33's but the 35's are almost the same price so im kinda thinking is it worth it to try and shoe horn the 35s under. turbo intercooled td42 4.1 diff gears manual.

what would u do? 33's or 35's? not afraid to trim guards but not really gunna lift higher. well not at this stage anyway...cheers guys

Probably use the search function.

Come on there has been so many tyre threads lately. As for howlong the MTZ last. Shit there a mud tyre, there noisey. And depending on who is driving will be good from anywhere from 10 000km to 100 000km.

thanks for ur real world feed back turps. anyone else got something to offer?

as for the search function im asking particular questions bout a particular tyre and want answers from people who have done what im proposing. i aint got hours to trawl through 5000 pages of not relevent information.

if u got something to contribute bout my questions then thanks but if u dont you can comment in some other thread.

I have a lwb Td42 with turbo.
Do lots of hwy and country driveing.
They are no noisier than other muddys.
Probably done 15-20k on them, not rotated and the back ones are about half way worn out. Fronts are about 75%. I am fairly heavy on tyres.
Work well allround in the bush and seem to be fairly tough with no damage yet.

if it was a tyre didn't already have 3 posts a week about it you may not get as many useless answers, and with the MTZ the search results are pretty useful because your not asking anything different to anyone else, seriously no need to have a stab at anyone when the answer is already there.

all of those are taken from the first page of results when searching for "MTZ"
in the nissan forum and tech forum, in total between the two forums there are only 4 pages of results.

so unless you are buying tyres within the next hour you have plenty of time to find the info you need. Also by starting a new thread, insted of asking the question in an older one, you are now making just that little bit harder for the next guy to search and find what he needs.

I have a set for my Gu ute..Main reason for me is they are my road tyres(I have 2 other sets for offroad)
They are excellent on the road,low/no noise, handling is great.
Off road they are below par.stuff like menia, rocky spots they are great but dirt ,clay, loose stuff they are crap.I will still keep mine and would buy another set if the right price.

Mate has them for his GQ wagon with v8 and he loves em..doesnt stop talking about them..lol

Good one dumb ass you were in such a big hurry you couldn't get the instant answer by searching, it was more time efficient to make a new post then spend your time telling people their uselfess for pointing you to the answers rather than finding them your self.

get over yourself champ, maybe you should stay of outers during "that time" of the month since you obviously cant be wrong.
