commodore fuel pump

Post by wildmouse »

HI all, just doing the finishing touches
to the swift 1600 conversion to my Sierra. Been 8 months
Need to know which way around I should put the fuel pump. not too sure if the thin tube or the thicker tube is the pump output, my pump is also got a yellow band around it .
Dont know how to put a picture on here.
Once I get this sorted, It will be drivable
Any help appreciated thanks

Put a hose on either end of the fuel pump. Put one end of one hose in a container with some petrol in it and the end of the other hose into an empty container. Power the fuel pump up. If fuel comes out into the empty container, then that is the correct way. Be careful not to point the hose at yourself or anybody else if it's a high pressure pump

EFI (specially bosch) have two different thicknesses on the ends. also one end has a check valve.
the bigger end is the tank end and the end with the valves go to the motor

I run the VL commodore external HP pump on my zook. The big end is 1/2 inch from memory, and is the pump input. The smaller end (3/8 i think) is the high pressure output.
