When taking off in my GU ute heavily (no wheel spin) a clicking noise can be heard from the rear end somewhere. sometimes 1 click, sometimes 2. it also does the same thing in reverse and if i back off throttle abruptly.
Now, it will do it as said above only once in each direction. eg, if i take off, it will click, but then it will only click again if i back off or go in reverse. i hope this makes sense.
checked for play in the uni's and gave them a grease again to no avail. axle wrap seems very minimal. the pinion flange rotates approx 10mm back and forward before trying to turn the wheels.
i have air lockers and 4.625 diff gears.
any help would be appreciated
cheers
PAUL

What's "Clicking"
I had the very same noise on my Gu Wagon.
i eventually chased it to loose rear lower control arms.
Tightened the shit out of the nuts and the sound went away.
Clunky click sound would be on sudden take off and sudder reversing.
