HJ47 fuel filter

Post by Shaun05 »

I have an '81' HJ47 ute that has the twin cartridge secondary fuel filter setup (as opposed to the single screw on type). I changed these for the first time today. They were pretty dirty, as was the primary filter, so maybe the old girl will run a little better now.

One thing I'm a little concerned about is that the new filters (Ryco) came with 2 small 'O' rings in each box (6-7mm) that I could'nt find a place for! I cannot find a manual that has the twin cartridge type filters in it, so I can't check.

Does anybody else have this setup (It's also got the centrifugal oil filter) or know what the hell these 'O' rings are for? Or can anyone tell me where to find a workshop manual that can help me.

Thanks,

Shaun.

Anyone? How common or un-common are these filters?
