bypassing intercooler fan thermostat

hay guys i got a gu2.8td wgaon and my intercooler fan doesnt work at all and the only thing i can possiably think is that the thermostat switch on it is faulty, i was woundering if there is a way to bypass this and have it wired up so that the intercooler fan comes on when eaither my radiator fan or front thermo fan(that works fine) comes on.

any help is great.

when my dad had the 2.8 i found that if you unplugged the temp sensor on the front of the intercooler, the fan ran whenever the truck ran, we had it like this for about 2 years no dramas,

so un plug the sensor on the actuall intercooler?

yeah mate i have had me unplugged for around two year no problems
