Production
Just a quick update on tyres and suspension:-
Max tyre size will be 840mm.
Track must remain within 50mm of standard track.
Suspension 3" more from standard bump stop height on full droop.
This will make it eaiser to control and fair for everyone (I hope)

So anyone know the length of a fully extended standard shock (front and rear) on a GQ, i've got no idea?? never had any. But won't this just limit travel, (droop) and have nothing to do with the actual resting (static)height of the vehicle..... Though i've probably got this messed up some how

For your info regards suspension height, under transport rules you are allowed to increase droop by 1/3 but it must be shared up and down.
So that boils down to a 2" lift in a Patrol/Cruiser being legal and a 3" will scrape in if you lose some of your downward travel.

GQ stanard front shocks are 520mm and the rears are 620mm.
plus 1/3rd equals 695mm for the front and 825mm for the rear.

That sounds ok.
Here is the bump stop height on a standard GQ, the GU would be much the same if not the same.
Rear bump stop height:- 210mm can go to 280mm (touch under 3")
Front bump stop height:- 160mm can go 215mm (touch over 2")
So you see legal is 2" lift, but most time you will get away with a 3" lift if you do not have a heap of other things done that put it on their radar.
Hope that clears some things up for everyone.
Note some measuments have been rounded up, so give or take a few mm.

sorry dave,I havent been on this forum for some time,I noticed the 50mm wider track rule, GU diffs only take you out 15mm each side. are you saying gu diffs are ok now.. where can we get a definate set of black & white spec rules,as we are building now!! & there isnt much time between now & march.

Hi Piglet, mate hi again.
At no point did I say GU diffs in a GQ were allowed.
I said that the track could be no more then 50mm wider. 50mm is what transport allow on solid axle 4wd's.
This means that you have to be carefull of rim offset nothing more.
Keep in mind when building new truck remember:-
IF IT DOES NOT COME WITH IT YOU CAN'T HAVE IT!!!!!! (this is for year of build not model, meaning a '90 swb Patrol cannot be fitted with a EFI motor out of the later wagon)
Rules will be on web site after Round 3.

is it entry fee going to be the same as the XWC ? cos if it is then there is no point waisting money on a new winch.

As it costs the same to put on a Production Event, ARB XWC or EFS Teams Event. (Actually the EFS Team Event costs more due to extra trophies and lower entry numbers).
It all keeps adding up, when you do an event.
Due to many costs involved (most that competitors are not aware of) I know the entry fee will be the same as the ARB XWC Series.
I have tried to keep entry fee down, even with all set up costs going up over night.
After all it is the same style of event and hopefully will attract the same sort of sponsorship.
As I have said before if you don't like the idea, start your own event and you will then find out just what the cost to put on an event is.

well if that is the case I can save the money on buying a winch and spend it on cage and harness.
