ignition locks and door locks stuff 40/60 series

Post by Punchy »

I've lost my keys to my truck and i cant find them anywhere

SH  T

Now on the wonderful world of ebay someone is selling new 60 series door locks and ignition barrel lock to suit 60 series..

Are these compatiable with 40/45 series trucks???

it looks like ill need to replace
1x ignition lock
1x 2 door locks
and if at all possible the fuel tank cap with built in lock

and then, anyone know how to break into a 45 ute

I'm thinking im gonna have to unbolt the hinges and flick the door lock that way to get in
45 series ute - 308 -gas -35's- lifted -no flex..But i got air lockers !

Do your 1/4 glass latches lock? Mine dont and you could open them with a paddle pop stick.

For the locks as long as both the doors and ignition were the same key you just need to remove the drivers door lock and take it to a lock smith. There is a number stamped into the lever on the lock. The locksmith will have a code to cut this key. I had to do this with my cruiser when i bought it. I think it cost me $15.

If all of that doesnt work. Pop the kick flap, remove the spring, pull the pin out that allows it to pivot, now reach in and grab you keys from the ignition or open the door.

We've spent another night looking for the keys, even went looking around brisbanes south side to various places i've been in case they were on the ground..no luck so far

Getting into the car to get the locks out is the first problem

But ill sure try them handy tricks tommorow for getting in

Getting to locks out and to the locksmith sounds like an awesome idea ! cheers Ruff
Im now gonna keep an eye out for that dodgey BJ...might take my rigg with his supa ninja air vent karate chop trick ! :P

with my old 45, i used to be able to pop that rounded corner rear window in. just place ya hands on the top and bottom of it and give it some gentle persuasion.

be carefull though as mine couldve just had a loose ish rubber and came out easy. yours maybe tight as a nuns proverbial! you should be able to tell if its gunna come loose or break though

haha, punchy you're a goose. :finger:

Go with Tony's idea with the locks once you get it open. I know the 40 and 60 ignition barrel do not swap over. I was going to do that with the steering conversion. Not even the bloody fuel filler flap lock swaps from 40 to 60. I now have 2 keys. One for 60 column and one for 40 fuel flap cover. :bad-words:

I know I can fix it to have 1 key but I'm a lazy bastard.

most decent locksmiths will be able to cut you a key on site without a sample to copy. They just try a blank and keep modifying it till it opens. I was a guy do this in about 1 minute flat.
