Post by taps »

Ok ...40 series owners may be able to help with this one.

I am looking for a replacement part for the back drivers side rear reflector that mounts near the tail lights, it is black moulded part with red reflector in it

The vehicle is a hj45 2/1980

I need to replace it and have had no joy genuine or aftermarket gettin one

Can someone please advise on where to get one

i've had to replace the reflector on mine. The black moulded part was cracked and the actual reflector broken. I found generic round reflectors at the local parts shop and siliconed it into the end of the moulded black section and siliconed the cracks in the black part up. It has been like that for about 5 years and works well. Your other option would be to get a secondhand one from somewhere.

Hi,

I have seen these on E-Bay U.S. as a new aftermarket replacement.
They were not that expensive and looked OK.
Actually if you search wordwide on E-Bay for FJ40/45 it is surprising what parts are available overseas!

Cheers, Mat
