Front diff-locator (torque rod) LN106 Hilux - question

Post by stampy4x4 »

I need to get a new diff locator for my LN106.
What can people tell me about the Superior Engineering version that's adjustable at both ends ($90) compared to the Snake Racing version that's adjustable at one end only ($125) ?
Any benefits/drawbacks to one or the other?

Edit: Another question - do I really need a front tailshaft-spacer and dropped-draglink for 2" springs and extended shackles?

Cheers, Stampy.

i just ordered a toughdog one for $110 including postage. I had a bit of a look around and figured that only one movable joint would be stronger than having 2. i'm sure both styles are more than strong enough for the job and an engineer on here will disprove my logic but thats why i bought the one with one adj end

I also thought about doing the same as xxxhilux but doing it myself but decided i couldn't be bothered stuffing round for a few hours when i can just order one off the net.

cheers

if you get one with only one end its a pain in the ass to adjust as you have to remove it adjust it refit to check it and take it out to adjust again if you get the double one it will have a left and right hand thread so you can just bolt it in and ajust it in the car so its much easier to fit

ive got a snake style one and its all god, just found that i jacked the truck up a tad higher on the driver side cuz the spring was saggin, then put it in, dropped the truck back down and there was no more spring sag, no good for bushes in it for all the load on it, but its been in for a year or so and still good!..
