Hey all,
Was doing a bit of reading on the marks 4wd website and toying with the idea of going dual transfer. Now all of the figures i'm using will be for a TD42 and 3.9 diff ratios.
Standard Final drive ratio is 33.58:1
with 85% reduction gears fitted final drive ratio is 62.215:1
Now if i would go Dual transfer, without adding any reduction gears, I would have the option of going 33.58:1 AND 67.83:1 (low low)
Is all of this correct?
My question is... Why aren't more people doing this? The cost if you include the dual shifter adaptor is still less than the 85% alone. But if i go dual i get to keep my standard low range, plus have the extra low for when needed. I think fitting cost would be more but i would be able to justify that. Or am i missing something here?

Any thoughts and comments would be great.
Cheers
Rohan

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
ive got them in mine, i like them as you have the choice of low or low low and when you have a 3.0l petrol that comes in handy, mine didnt cost that much got the std rear shaft shortened and the front shaft needs a centre bearing to clear the cross member, i made my own by cutting the nissian shaft and putting a piece of a rear hilux shaft in the middle with the centre bearing, the shafts are the same size so i just sleaved and welded them.
Mind if i ask what it stung you all up mate? $2k ish? Any probs with it so far?GRINCH wrote:ive got them in mine, i like them as you have the choice of low or low low and when you have a 3.0l petrol that comes in handy, mine didnt cost that much got the std rear shaft shortened and the front shaft needs a centre bearing to clear the cross member, i made my own by cutting the nissian shaft and putting a piece of a rear hilux shaft in the middle with the centre bearing, the shafts are the same size so i just sleaved and welded them.
