i am trying to work out a cheap effective way to fit T700R4/4L60E up to nissans. They can be built to handle good HP cheaply, and can be used with heaps of different tcases. Also looking at putting an NV4500 behind a TD42.

Ok this is wha I've got for ya.

It is a diagram for the NISSAN FAST program which they use to catalogue parts.

If you need it for any other engine RB/RD or SD let me know.

thanks gorilla

question for you.

are you able to see if the transfer case in a 88 swb mav is the same in the rd28 gu's.

I'm keen to throw a rb25det motor in my car and have a bit of fun with it.

I havent had the chance yet to see if the peices all fit together tho.

So rb25det motors.

FS5R30A gearbox is from the tb42 (the one i have now)

and the standard trasfer case.

I've been told different things, but it seems to be that those things all fit together and if they dont i need to get the rd28 gearbox and that will all bolt in straight.

Can you offer any help at all man?

cheers

Nelly trasfercases are the same but the Gearboxs are different.
They RD28, RB30 and RD28T uses the same weaker box. Think its the same or similar to whats in a 300ZX.

The TB42, TD42, TB45, ZD30, TD42T and TB48 use the same 5spd. There where some slight changes in the gear ratio's and synchros through the years though.

no there not.......the top hat on a gu is 3' further back on the gearbox. and the transfercase stick is in the wrong place two far back. and you cant interchange the stick between the gu/gq. the selector sharft which comes throw the case turns a different way.............

also the RD28T and RB30's Transfer cases have a smaller flange on them at teh back of the transfer case since they run a smaller driveshaft.

On the 2.8 transfer case there is a oil catch on the front input shaft, to fit these to the larger gear box you need to cut this off.
list of things that are different. between 2.8 and 4.2
gears sticks
cross member
drive shafts and rear flanges
engine mounts
engine mount chassis bracket RH side
cheers Phill,
I have for sale 2.8 parts, gear box, cross member , drives shafts (transfer cases, GQ 4.2, GU 4.2 )
cheers Phill.
