Rear Door Broken Hinge Mount

Post by 4runnerJonno »

The weight of the rear door in my sierra hard top has broken/rusted through where the bottom hinge is mounted to the pannel. It seems to be something that would be quite common but I cant find any info on how to fix it.

Does anyone have any ideas on a way to strengthen where the hinge mounts?

Cheers,

Considered a swing away wheel carrier? This will help take some strain off the hinges in the future...

Yeh, the wheel was removed from the door a while ago its just the weight of the door that has broken the panel underneath the hinge. I was thinking of re-inforcing it with some checkerplate. Has anyone done this?
