3rz Charcoal Canister?

Post by Lux_89 »

Hey guys, got a 93 lux with a 3rz in it, prolly seen the build, just have some q's.. I have the engine all modd plated, however im getting a transport inspection due to getting defected, just wondering is it law to have a charchoal canister and weather i should bother putting one in?
It got modd plated no dramas so i doubt they should even bother lookin at it? And should i fit a resinator or cat converter in the exhaust? It currently just has the diesel system welded to it..

Any help appreciated, Cheers Chris

They dont run a Cat in them from standard on the Hiluxs. I think I may have my old canister lying around in the shed somewhere if you need it, let me know and I will have a look if its there.

With your luck Chris you'll get a copper who says "unleaded - needs a cat conv." wether it came with one or not.

I find it hard to believe that 3RZ's don't come with one though.

Those engines were designed to not need a cat to comply with that adr but there a law unto themselves so see what they say about it.

Hey mate I have that canister and stuff here if you want it, its yours. As for the Cat no hilux 2wd or 4wd with the 2.7 came with a Cat and I am 90% sure the Hiaces didnt either. I wouldnt bother with one and if they tried to pin you for it Id take it to court.
