hey just after some info on what this problem could be when moving slowly and try to change from 2nd to 1st the gear box just crunches reall badly and have to stop to select 1st does any one know what the problem is

Bad synchros, or are they only on higher gears?

Mine doesn't like going into first when I am moving either, not sure any really do for that matter...

Sounds like a cracked or minced up 1st gear synchro ring.

Replace or rebuild gearbox.

my old stock box hated it... i could do it though if i matched the revvs... try it out - blip the accelerator to the RPM you think youll hit on the downchange and itll go in smooth =)

since putting in my 5.14 gears though its all fine - but i still do it out of habit downchanging each gear...

How much does something like this cost? My gearbox crunches going from 3rd to 4th unless i double clutch.
