Good luck getting it. I think your best hope is to try the UK, or Japan, where Daihatsu parts should still be readily available.

The chances of finding just the drive gear are just about nil. Unless, you happen upon a Rocky that has been wrecked, that happened to have a PTO winch fitted, and that winch was stuffed in whatever happened to make the whole vehicle get wrecked, so the wreckers are willing to sell just the PTO drive, or applicable gear.

A more practicable idea might be to see if someone can fabricate one. Try someone who specialises in manufacturing gears. And supplying the transfer case shaft, and PTO drive unit to the manufacturer may be useful in getting it made.

Sorry, but you cant have mine.

Unfortunately I think that looking to the UK may be optimistic, I have only ever seen two Daihatsu pto units for sale here (on ebay) and one was broken. I have never seen a Rocky equipped with a pto winch in the flesh, only in photos. It may be worth posting on www.daihatsu4x4.eu ,there are a number of guyswho post there who seem to have them. I think you may struggle to get them to part them though.

Know nothing about Rocky PTO's but from the posts its seems they are a bit fragile... is this representative or just isolated cases ?

If its common - perhaps fixing it isn't really worht the dollars with the cheap Chinese units being readily available ?
( usual disclaimers )

It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.
