Hot To : Springover on 40 Series
Hey am looking for help from someone that has done a springover on a fj40 or similar, just wondering what parts are required and what needs to be done from what i can see the steering needs to be modified to suit, need new long travel shocks, new perch's welded, extended brake lines any help on how to go about it all would be great, cheers.
Im here for the sausage!
depending on how flexy your going you may not need brakelines.
shocks are the same.
but for full effect yes.
im pretty sure my old truck had stock steering.
you will want to look at rotating your diffs to improve the angle on the pinion for the drive shafts.
havent got that one anymore though so cant help with anything too technical.
maybe go through some of the builds where SPOA has been done and follow those. and watchout for their mistakes etc.
if i was doing it id go longer springs and flatter. checkout the 40s in the pirates of the rubicon DVD. long flat springs and they flex awesome.
then they go coils etc in number 2. but leaves are good at times.
