85 lwb suzuki sierra, 1 litre transfer, 2 inch lift, hammered guards, 31 inch swampers.
Try doing a search we have covered this topic many a time.. Any new member should try using the search function as it will answer the majority of your questions about things like this.

All joking aside it is becoming boring when the same questions get asked over and over. You don't think someone has asked what size tyre before. There was even another thread about tyre size a couple of lines below. Also you find the silly questions are asked then they never reply back with a thanks etc. There is a very useful sticky thread about buying Suzukis etc. All it takes is a few moments to do a search on the board and see what has been asked before

grimbo,some of us ,(unlike yourself)wouldn't have a clue on how to use the search section.
Instead of answering him saying "use search",why didn't you just answer his question???
It would have saved YOU putting YOUR information in TWICE.
It also helps if questions are answered,because i'm sure there is more than 1 person waiting on replies to the same thread.
Just my 2 cents worth,ignore it if you wish.

james I know what you mean .. But if the same question is asked repeatedly people do get sick of answering it .. then the brains trust goes and hangs out elsewhere where they can stay interested in the topics as they are not the same old thing over and over ...
BTW you search by clicking on the search button at the top of the page ... Its pretty easy .. if you can type and use a mouse .. you can search
Also some say Suzuki axles will cop 36's some will say 31's .. some people (like Sam from overkill broke two axles or CV's can't recall which in his driveway ... ) So do a searh .. have a look .. there are 737 topics in here with over 10,000 responses ... thats a huge knowledgebase to draw on.
Please dont take this as an assult on you .. But after a while it gets annoying and I know why grimbo gets into search nazi mode ..

Like greg said it is not a personal attack on anyone just a suggestion to help yourself, have a look around you may be surprised what you will find with a little bit of searching.

grimbo, i know how to use the info on different forums.I just placed myself with the few people who don't,instead of telling them that basicaly they're an idiot.
The term "newbies"means that this could possibly be there 1st time on ANY forum.
All i'm saying is give them a go.
Isn't that what this forum is for...........to help people.
I understand totally where you are coming from.....but instead of getting annoyed,either don't answer their question OR put your suggestion about using the search engine to them in a polite and friendly way.
I have 3 boys who have not used a forum yet and i hope 1 day,if they hop on this forum they will get met with help instead of dissappointment.

Tonks - if it's really a quick and simple answer that you wanted - then here it is:
The axels on your sierra will handle any size tyre (up to at least a 36" Swamper). However this is completely dependent upon how you drive it, and what you drive it on.
i.e. people break sierra axels on as small a size as a 27" tyre... but these are normally when a full noise or when the tyres are jammed into a crevase or something.
I would suggest that in competition format you would want to be able to drive your car on the rev limiter all the time with as much reliability as possible. Perhaps this is not the right situation to be using stock sierra axels.

Heres how i see it Tonks , Your 32 pedes are a pretty high traction tire,
If you mainly drive on soft gravely surfaces and mud , and you are running standard ratio transfer , then it will be fiarly reliable,
under the above circumstances you could run upto 38s probly,With attention to throttle usage.
