keep wrecking unis. latest one lasted a week.

When your putting in the new uni's are you making sure your its got good movement as the caps are squashed in...? Make sure the rollers havent been pinched which can cause a quick destruction. I recently put all new Uni's through mine front and back and a month later Im at the vehicle registry having the annual inspection when the guy tells me my rear uni is close to full destruction....? Whilst I put it down to a bad install some how or maybe of the circlips fell out it sure as hell didnt last long. I put a new one straight in after I got home careful to make sure I definitly didnt pinch any rollers. And it has since been good since. Before I did the rebuilds my last ones lasted over 2 years and they really only had a small bit of play in them I just thought it was a good time to put new ones in whilst everything was out and being done at the time. Make sure they are greased up as well that always helps.

How long do they actually last ? 500Ks 2000Ks 50Ks ?
You should be able to go easily 20,000k's between greasings if your not offroading it.
Is it usually the caps that bolt up to the diff or the T/case side of the shaft that go.
Ususally a stock shaft is about $200-$300 second hand.

Yes, you have to cut down the locating ring (little circle bit) on the flange of the shafts.
