mine was a Ti and had no underbody lights for shining down, are they in the sill, or bottom of the door itself?
I do believe you can get the model from VIN

My 88 DX has air and tacho - but the air con is either dealer fitted or aftermarket, not factory. It was an optional extra.

DX is base model, 2 speaker stereo, vinyl etc.
ST had air con, power mirrors/windows, carpet, central locking, rear speakers
Ti had leather steering wheel and seats, 7 speaker stereo.

Other differences....

- disc or drum rear
- factory swaybar disconnects
- rear locker
- wheel arch flare extensions
- chromed bumpers
- 1/2 & 1/2 split fold middle sets
- 5 or 7 seaters.

Some of those were options, but some were fitted as standard fare on upper spec models.

Bench front or 2 seat middle row?

Overseas MQ/MK also had mini headlight wipers - GQ probably also had this option.

Also forgot - dual zone air conditioning!!!!

bucket drivers seat and bench passenger/middle seat up front - the middle seat is not really useable due to the transmission tunnel, but it's got a seatbelt and the compliance plate says 6.
