Lowering spare tyre

Post by stagma »

Hey guys,

I've noticed most other feroza's on the roads around here there spare located in a lower position. so i decided to have a look at mine there are holes for the lower position but no nuts behind the holes. is there something i missed as it doesn't seem to have reinforcement behind the holes

Cheers, Chris

No - its not just you, my door is exactly the same..... there's no support behind the second set ( the lower set ) of holes so they can't be used.

With a standard tire it must be a joke..... I have a 34 swamper on and its still way to high. Looking at getting a later door.

If not will rotate the bracket / cut and modify as rear vision is a bitch.

What you may be noticing is the different year model doors.

The earlier models had it up higher and in the centre of the door. The later models had it slightly lower and offset to the drivers side which may be the one you're noticing.

With the later models, the position was also deemed to restrict vision of the tail lights, hence why they have a bigger rear bumper and the lights mounted down low, which technically you would probably have to do to yours if it is the earlier model, although no one would probably ever pick up on it.

No argument about the years... but mine has TWO complete sets of holes in the outer door skin - so obviously at some point in time there were two variants.
