Ive just rebuilt my diesel 4spd an converted it into a 5spd using a kit that Automotive Transmission Components in Wagga (02) 69213893 produce
The kit they supply gives you all the selector shafts ,forks, lockouts balls ,springs ,the 5th gear assembly etc but only the bearing that actually sit inside the the 5th gear parts
This cost approx $350
Rebuilt rest of box while i was at it Bearings, seals etc for $250
Only part's i had to source was the rear counter shaft bearing an circlip which holds bearing in rear housing, which is not supplied in either kit
These boxs came out as a five spd in the American models an where known as a L52
If you rebuild the box this way you dont have to get your tailshafts shortened an lengthened both gear an transfer levers remain in the same spots .
This box seems to stand up alright behind the 308 that i'm running, but that also comes down to your driving style
Heres diagrams from american Clymer w/shop manual showing relevant parts.
