What other model radiator have you fitted in GQ

hi Guys looking at buying a new aliminium radiator but would like to know if someone has adapted a different radiator that has come out of a different model car...

Ive got an EL radiator and thermofan set here that Im keen to try to fit to mine. They dont look that different in dimensions. I just need to find the time to do it.

If you dont mind spending on good gear - look at the PWR "off roader" double pass unit, I have put it to the test towing a 3 ton boat @ 27psi boost, 550-600.C max exhaust temps and it hardly moves off half way!
A few brackets need to be tig welded on the top with a filler cap and youre away.

I have a 3 row TD42 and it keeps mine cool.
93 Nissan Pathfinder / Terrano Turboed VH45, GQ Trans and T-case, coil overs, hydraulic winch and fair bit of other stuff. (Currently a pile of parts in the workshop)

Bogged you hit the nail on the head......So many $$$$$ when you say GQ....not sure why when the deminsions of other radiators are larger but they are so much cheaper??????

new standard 3 core radiator... it works in many 100's of other GQ's turbo or not...

Not sure what Centa Vic Performance use. But last quote was around the $1000 mark and keeps things nice and cold. At the OBC giving the car a flogging it didnt warm up at all.

STD replacement GQ auto Radiator is $560 paid that 6mths ago.

we run a 3core desert cooler in ours
1993 Gq lwb with added xtra's :) sold
fj60,lifted,35s,33s for daily, 3f power!

The 3 core one I run keeps my turboed V8 cool and that's running 280rwkw. I don't have an oil cooler at present either.
We are looking at an open fin radiator at present but that might end up being a custom build to get cooling capacity with less fins. It is however planned to go in the same place and be the same dimension. The current plan (that may change) is to runa cross flow radiator so the fins are vertical. It will also have stright fins and most likely will be a 4 row cooler.

The reason l don't get mine reco'd is to much $$$$ there must be cheaper ones out there....Can't see myself spending a couple of green backs every year on a radiator....the only reason mine is bad as the fins are weak and are closing on each other.....

I have seen a leaf cab gq fitted with a ford bronco rad.

It had a 6.5 v8 deisel and 671 blowwer out the bonnet.

i know for a fact that the standard desel radiator will keep a 383 cool in winch comps. cant get much more stressed than that
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

I used to run a Holden HQ - HZ 3 core V8 Air conditioning radiator in my GQ after I did the engine conversion. There were a little narrower then the GQ unit it replaced. I just fitted a couple of fill in panels to either side of the radiator support panel to bolt the radiator to. Ran this setup for years.
