Hard top, for soft top sierra
Hard top, for soft top sierra
Hi guys,
I'm currently looking at a zook close by, which looks really good, newly recon'd motor, and a few other good things, Only thing is, its a soft top.
Now if it was just a weekend car i wouldn't care, but its going to be a daily driver, so its going to drive me insane. I've had a look through the zook parts sellers, and cant seem to find any places that sell hard tops for Sierras? (It's a 96 model, if it makes any difference?)
Any one know of a place to buy them, or a rough price i would be looking at to get one?
Cheers.

why will a soft top drive you crazy???
a quality soft top will not leak or flap in the wind - mine doesnt flap at all and only leaks in torrential rain when im doing over 80km/hr... and even then i've fixed that by stuffing some foam in the front corners of the top.
You can get fibreglass hard tops but theyre really rare and even more expensive...

The worst thing about censorship is ███████.
Do you mean a Removable hardtop for the soft-top car; or a factory hardtop car?
I run a Removable hardtop on my softop. Not the prettiest thing ever made, but it serves its purpose. I bought it second hand off of a member on this forum. Brand new Flexiglass Challenge still sell them, but they are about $2000 new from them.
Alien, wrt softop leaking, my fibreglass roof leaks more than my softop ever did; but its only water, essentially harmless...

No, thats why under my avatar it says "Western Brisbane". Its in QLD for the geographically challenged
I drove home sunday 2 weeks ago from a 4WD trip with just the front half of my fibreglass roof on, through heavyish rain for about 2 hrs. I just had to keep the bungs out, otherwise I went swimming. Didn't even need the heater on, its really isn't that bad. OK in winter it would major suck!

Well I live in Darwin, so being cold, and raining, doesnt happen here. Althought coming up to this time of the year, we do get a lot of rain.
It was also bit of a security thought aswell, as i know its going to get cut open, even if it takes 5 minutes to get open with out damaging it, the 13 yr olds are too stupid for that.
I didnt realise they cost so much! was hoping for only 800ish Oh well, might forget about having a hard top on it then. Might just invest in a good soft top for it, to keep down the noise.

Yeah, the main thing about living up here, is that all the 13 yrs old have figured out there untouchable by the law, so they go around stealing, and burning cars, and other misc. shit that i would love to kill them for if they did it to me/my stuff.
would a good soft top would be pushing around $600 or so?

or make it into a well body ute like someone has just done on here. sealed the cab off from the back and then make a hardtop lid for the back out of wood/glass.
